NBAS: Lifesaving Care for Animals Across the North Bay

At North Bay Animal Services, our mission is to build a safer, more compassionate region for all living beings: animals and their human companions alike. As a trusted North Bay animal shelter and community partner, our team provides compassionate care, timely responses to calls for safety services, and above all, a welcoming place for each and every pet that enters our doors.

Our mission is simple: from Petaluma to Windsor, from Sebastopol to Cloverdale, and the surrounding communities of Sonoma County, we are here for the animals, to support their families, and to strengthen the bond between all of us.

Why Animal Rescue Services Matters to Our Community

As the region’s leader of municipal animal services, we provide daily management of the rescue operations of companion animals, contract animal public safety response calls, lost and found, all with professionalism and heart. Our staff and volunteers work every day to ensure no companion animal is missed or forgotten. Because we are a no-kill animal shelter, every pet will receive individualized care and medical treatment, enrichment, and time until the right home is found for the pet.

Our shelter is also a proud nonprofit animal shelter, meaning your contributions directly fuel lifesaving programs such as:

  • Emergency and routine animal rescue services
  • Medical care for injured or abandoned pets
  • Spay/neuter and microchip support
  • Reunification efforts for lost animals
  • Community education and outreach
  • Food and resource assistance for families in need

Every adoption, every donation, and every act of support ripples through the North Bay, helping animals get the second chances they deserve.

Meet Our Animals: Find a Companion Waiting for You

Our Animals page features pets with every sort of personality; gentle seniors, lovable and energetic puppies, and everything in between. They are all just waiting for an adopter (or a potential adopter) to come along and take them home. If a hiking buddy, cuddly couch buddy, or family-friendly solution is what you are looking for, there is an animal ready to become a part of your life.

Found an Animal? We’re Here to Help

If you have found a stray cat or dog, our Found Animals page will walk you through step-by-step instructions on how to help these animals while keeping them safe. Reporting an animal so we can help reunite them with their families quickly will help everyone and will keep pets out of harm’s way.

Support Our Lifesaving Mission

Being a nonprofit animal shelter, securing community support is essential in making sure we can provide care for animals, 365 days a year. Your support provides animals with food, shelter, rehabilitation, and a true opportunity for a better life.
